The West in Fragmentations
YSC Policy Paper Series: Contributions by the #YSC2020 Fellows
This collection of essays, created by a new generation of foreign policy analysts and thinkers, takes a nuanced and historically literate approach to the West and to European autonomy and geopolitics.
The first section of the compilation starts with the concept of “Westlessness”, which was the theme of the Munich Security Conference in 2020. The subsequent chapters (i) explore the question of what Europe - in particular - can do to play a more active role in international relations as well as (ii) European behaviour towards arms trade in the Indo-Pacific. The compliation is rounded-up by contributions on strategic security policy, and a suitable strategic compass, as well as current trends and recent achievements in the field of climate and energy.
